We have a wealth of experience and knowledge of child development as well as many specialist areas of developmental needs. We work alongside professionals, such as Teachers of the deaf, Sensory Needs Team, Health Visitors, Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Community Nurses, and other professionals necessary to be fully inclusive and ensure every child meets their potential.
Both Managing Directors are trained in Special educational needs and disabilities and have a wealth of knowledge and direct experience in this field. We are passionate about being a fully inclusive nursery and providing a loving, caring, supportive nursery life for every child and their families.
We will undertake any training and development necessary to support all children’s individual needs, whether these are educational or medical needs. We are already trained in adrenaline administration, epileptic rescue medication, oxygen administration, peg feeding, and feeding tube trained.
Jessica (Managing Director) is trained in Picture exchange communication (PECS) which is a different way of communication when a child is unable to verbally communicate.
Jessica also has Intervenor training which is specifically for children with multi-sensory impairment (visual and/or hearing impairments). The training was extensive and supports staff at Ladybird Nursery to meet the needs of children with MSI. We are currently using some sign language and are awaiting the opportunity for sign along or British sign language training.
We have made a sensory room to support our children to regulate. This is a calming area with many resources to support the individual needs of each child.
