About

Our Story

Ladybird Nursery started as a mother and baby/toddler group and has grown over the years to full Monday to Friday childcare.

Ladybird Nursery is a family run provision with a family feel.

The managing directors, Kim & Jess have collectively over 20 years of experience working within the setting as well as invaluable experience with their own children.

We, as a family purchased Ladybird Nursery in 2013. Our mum, Tracy, retired in 2020 and passed the setting to us. She retired, then became our chef and continues to provide our delicious meals every day on site and we can honestly say the meals are AMAZING!

Our Facilities

In October 2022 we opened our new babies and toddlers’ room where the RDDC dance school previously was and are now all together after moving our setting at Carr Street.

We have a lovely large outdoor area which the children access daily. Our outdoor area reflects the indoor environment with added learning opportunities, such as, bug hunting, planting and growing, using bikes and scooters and climbing equipment.

Our provision has four separate rooms/areas:

Our Little Ladybirds room is for children aged birth – 2 years and there are places for up to 10 children.

Our Blossoming Bumble Bees room is for children aged 2-3 years and there are places for up to 16 children.

Our Busy Butterflies room is a large room for children aged 3-4 years in their pre-school year. We have places for up to 28 children in this room.

Our Team

We are a highly qualified, motivated, enthusiastic team who all share a passion for Early Years care and education. With many years of experience our provision provides quality care, teaching and learning experiences.

Each staff member has their own specific qualities that contribute to different aspects of the early years framework and ensures the best quality and standards are maintained every day. We, as the managing directors are passionate regards to working directly with the children and alongside the staff. This enables us as a team to understand the needs of each individual child, build positive relationships with parents and demonstrate practise and expectations to staff. We feel very lucky to be able to continue to work directly with the children daily which is the reason we both began as early years practitioners several years ago.

All of our team are trained in Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding Children, Food Hygiene, Allergy Awareness, and Fire Safety (Fire Marshalls)

Our Promise

Ladybird Nursery works closely with other professionals to maintain the highest quality of provision for families who choose our setting to care for their children.

Working together with the Local Authority, Health Visitors, and many other local professionals ensures our team are continuously enhancing knowledge and skills, sharing ideas, and ultimately ensuring our children and families constantly access the highest quality of care throughout their time with us.
